From the President

Welcome the Healesville Chamber of Commerce and Industry Website. You know a partnership is no better than the people in it. Henry J. Kissanger once said, “You seldom accomplish very much by yourself. You must get the assistance of others”.With the Healesville Chamber of Commerce you are partnering with a complete organisation whose purpose is to provide leadership in improving our local business environment. The focus of the Healesville Chamber is on building a unified business community and promoting an environment for business retention, growth and success. The Chamber Committee is committed to assisting members in “Taking Business to the Next Level.” This will be accomplished through:

  • Networking opportunities
  • Advocacy through a unified business voice
  • Educational opportunities to assist members in managing their businesses
  • Community Service opportunities to enhance the socio-economic and cultural well being of Healesville and the Yarra Valley.

An old proverb says, “Opportunity is where you find it.” It doesn’t say, “where it finds you”. The Healesville Chamber of Commerce will work to help you find solutions for your business problems. We are here to serve and help you succeed. I am sure you will find the resources within this Website extremely useful. As President, I look forward to you joining the Chamber and taking your business to the next level.

Gary Slater

President

What is the Chamber

The Healesville Chamber of Commerce and Industry Inc. is organised to focus attention and initiate private sector action on the major issues affecting the economic well-being and quality of life in the area.

The Chamber's willingness to get involved in a broad range of issues and to participate in hands on activities that directly affect the quality of life in Healesville, ensures residents and business owners that Healesville will remain a great place to live and do business.

It is a private, not-for profit association supported entirely by its membership. The Chamber receives no government funding or contracts.  Our members come from  all industries, all sizes, and from  all over the Yarra Valley .

The policies and programs of the Chamber are determined by its membership through the Chamber Committee. The Committee has a paid, part-time, secretary and active members organise and execute the Chamber's program of work.

The Chamber works through a number of committees and task forces. Members who participate in these committees and task forces have a direct impact on Chamber positions and influence community action.

The Chamber works year round in diverse ways to strengthen the region's prosperity and livability. A strong economy requires a healthy business climate, a productive workforce, adequate infrastructure, public and private sector collaboration and numerous other elements.

The Chamber serves as a catalyst, advocate, convener and partner in helping Healesville build its preferred future.

Who are Chamber Members

The Chamber is a private, membership-based and driven organisation that unites businesses in an effort to promote economic prosperity in our region and provides businesses with tools to grow.

Our strength lies in the number and diversity of our business members.

The Chamber often works with government to improve our region's business climate, but is not a department of any governmental entity.

With a solid base of over 100 businesses representing  hundreds of employees the Chamber is representative of all sizes and types of business.

Corporate Giants are represented, but over 85% of the Chambers membership is made up of small businesses (classified as 10 employees or less).

Chamber members are Bankers, Beauticians, Café owners, Consultants and Publicans, Educators and much more.

Members have varied interests and concerns, but underlying all is the common desire to improve the local business environment and enhance the socioeconomic and cultural well being of our community.
